Let Me Introduce Myself

My name is Britta. I am a 27 year old homeschooled, divorcee and mother to three beautiful children.

I am a historical costumer and an active participant in living history events in Southern California.

I throughly enjoy drinking and learning everything there is to know about wine. Seriously. The wine industry is amazing. So it is only fitting I work at a small winery on the central coast.

Art is a big part of my life. Whether that means I am designing a new costume or set of historical garments, sketching, writing poetry or painting.

Also, Coffee is life Force. Without Coffee, life seems impossible.
I have no filter without coffee.... So I say things straight from I don't even know where. So I can promise the snark is real, the feels are real and you may just say, "Britta said what!?"

This Too Shall Pass

I hate change. A lot. This should be funny given that I have gone though so many stages of change in the short 31 years I have called my life. But it isn't. (As I wipe away tears while laughing). I really like consistency and dependability. I like the feeling of being so sure and confident in what you are doing that there is no moment of hesitation.  But, HELLO WORLD! Change is inevitable.  Dependability isn't always probable, and confidence? Isn't that where you say "Hell Yeah!" to new opportunities even though you are so nervous, BECAUSE you believe in yourself and what you can do? Right? Emotional Abuse is Domestic Violence

"Without fanfare or even notice, the Department of Justice’s Office on Violence Against Women made significant changes to its definition of domestic violence in April. The Obama-era definition was expansive, vetted by experts including the National Center for Victims of Crime and the National Domestic Violence Hotline. The Trump administration’s definition is substantially more limited and less informed, effectively denying the experiences of victims of abuse by attempting to cast domestic violence as an exclusively criminal concern.
